Bikes or Cars

Americans like to go out by car. Although more and more Chinese own

cars,most Chinese still like to ride bicycles, This is determined by a

lot of factors.

As we all know, the bike advances slowly by manpower, but it can be

placed wherever it is convenient However, as for the car, although it can

run fast by engine, it must be parked at parking places.

Most Americans live in the suburb which is far from urban areas and

their working places. So they need cars to go shopping and go to work.

And they also like traveling far. Thus a car brings them great convenience.

On the contrary, most Chinese live near their working areas and markets.

They don't need a car to go to work or go shopping.

I would like to ride a bike, because it costs little and it is easy

Smoking And Health

Today smoking is a widespread habit ali over the world. Not only the

lung cancer, from which many people have died in the past years. It

Use of Free Time

With the working hours becoming shorter and shorter and holidays

becoming longer and longer, how to spend the leisure time has become

The use of free time often discloses much about one's tastes, va

lues, interests and personality. Some may take to the humanities: lit

erature, magic, art, and they might be interested in movies and telev

ision. Others participate in sports, politics, voluntary work or hobb

ies at home. Still others like parties, traveling, .or just loafing.

Obviously, the use of free time is a good means of relaxation, b

ut its benefits go beyond this. All things people do in leisure hours

enable them to gratify their wishes. This can contribute to intellec

tual growth and promote social activities as well.

So the good use of free time will make life rich, colorful and

Who is willing to drink the polluted water? It can cause us to b

e ill and even to die. We can't wait for a moment to protect our wate

r sources. The water we use comes from oceans, lakes, rivers or strea

ms. But many of these water sources are getting seriously polluted. T

owns and cities are pouring dust into the water. Many people are thro

People enjoy themselves after hard work by Watching TV. They can

People learn much from TV. Students can study by watching some e

As is well known, books teach us to learn life, truth, science and many other useful things. They increase our knowledge, broaden our minds and strengthen our character. In other words,

they are our good teachers and wise friends. This is the reason why our parents always encourage us to read more books. Reading is a good thing, but we must pay GREat attention to the choice of books. It is true that we can derive benefits from good books. However, bad books will do us more harm than good. 如眾所周知，書籍教我們學習人生，真理，科學以及其它許多有用的東西。它們增加我們的知識，擴大我們的心胸并加強我們的品格。換句話說，它們是我們的良師益友。這是為什么我們的父母終是鼓勵我們要多讀書的理由。

讀書是一好事，但我們必須多加注意書的選擇。不錯，我們能從好書中獲得益處。然而，壞書卻對我們有害無益。

In my dream

Last night ,I dreamed I became a very beautiful brid.I dreamed that I was in a forest. In tht forest,there were a lot of animals.Then,an old bird told us,"we have a very beautiful forest,we should therefore protect it from pollution."All the animals agreed with him.

But the second day,people came into our forest.Many animals were caught.The people wanted to build house and parks in our forest.Many old trees were felled.And then suddenly,nothing was left standing.

I was so shocked and then I bursted out crying.I woke up at midnight.It was only a dream.

在夢中

晚我夢見我變成一只非常漂亮的鳥.我夢見我在一座森林,森林里有很多動物.然后有一只老鳥告訴我們,"我們有一座非常美麗的森林, 因此我們應(yīng)該保護它,免受污染"所有的動物都贊成他.

但是第二天,人們進入我們的森林,許多動物被逮捕.這些人要在我們的森林地上建造房子和公園.許多年老的樹木被砍下,然后,突然間,一切都被夷平了.

Dropped in at National Library to see the National Book

Exhibition which will close today.Suprised at the fact that so many kinds of books are published in our country.Thought the children's books with many pages of colorful illustrations were made very nicely.Bought a copy of the Chinese version of English and American Short Stories at a 20 per cent discount.Am going to read this through in this good season for reading. 書展

信步走到圖書館看即將在今天結(jié)束的全國書籍。驚奇的是發(fā)現(xiàn)我們國家竟然出版了這么多種的書籍。我覺得富有多頁彩色插圖的兒童書籍印刷的相當精美。我買了一本打八折的《英美短篇小說》中文版。我要在這讀書的好季節(jié)里將它讀完。
