Sometimes, foreign teachers struggleto fmd a unique voice in the Chineseclassroom. They want to help asmuch as they can and pass along abeneficial skill or language, occasionallyone we feel our own country might takefor granted. However, when faced withstudents" requests for classroom "entertain-ment" that seems trivial and/or childish, our first impulse is to dismiss and move on.The truth of the matter is that this studentrequest, in fact, serves as a clue for gain-ing a better understanding of the Chinesestudent and ultimately, how to teach themeffectively with fun and practicality.
