2008年夏天，一名男子途經(jīng)一所中學(xué)時(shí)，突然掏出隨身攜帶的水果刀，沖向正在做操的中學(xué)生。當(dāng)其正要揮刀刺向被擄住的女學(xué)生時(shí)，幸被及時(shí)趕到的警察和周邊師生制服。經(jīng)查，該名22歲的男子是山東荷澤市人，在青島一所大學(xué)讀書。事發(fā)時(shí)，他已經(jīng)連續(xù)在網(wǎng)吧待了兩天兩夜，欲趕回住處，突然意識(shí)混亂導(dǎo)致了違法行為的發(fā)生。
　　 隨著網(wǎng)絡(luò)技術(shù)的發(fā)展和玩網(wǎng)絡(luò)游戲（以下簡(jiǎn)稱“網(wǎng)游”）的青少年人數(shù)的不斷增長(zhǎng)，上網(wǎng)成癮人數(shù)也在急劇增加。據(jù)2008年8月全國(guó)人大公布的數(shù)據(jù)顯示，目前中國(guó)約有4000萬未成年網(wǎng)民，其中上網(wǎng)成癮者約占10%左右。而據(jù)省內(nèi)某網(wǎng)癮治療機(jī)構(gòu)負(fù)責(zé)人推算，目前山東省的網(wǎng)癮青少年大概有100多萬，而且還有不斷增長(zhǎng)的勢(shì)頭，青少年沉迷網(wǎng)游問題已具有社會(huì)普遍性。
　　 隨著“網(wǎng)癮”人數(shù)的不斷增加，不良網(wǎng)游已成為破壞家庭和社會(huì)和諧的罪惡淵藪。按山東省有100萬名“網(wǎng)癮少年”計(jì)算，至少要涉及上百萬個(gè)家庭，每治愈一個(gè)網(wǎng)癮患者至少需花費(fèi)2萬元，多則十幾萬乃至幾十萬元，在給這些家庭造成精神傷害的同時(shí)也加重了他們的經(jīng)濟(jì)負(fù)擔(dān)；有些重度患者已無法治愈，給家庭造成永遠(yuǎn)無法愈合的巨大精神創(chuàng)傷，許多家庭因此家破人亡，嚴(yán)重影響了社會(huì)的安定團(tuán)結(jié)。
　　 部分沉迷網(wǎng)游的青少年采取一些極端手段（如：割腕、搶劫、偷盜、賣身等）來獲取上網(wǎng)費(fèi)用，許多青少年因沉迷網(wǎng)游而滑向犯罪深淵。青島市一名15歲的男孩，自10歲起沉迷網(wǎng)游，曾連續(xù)幾天乃至數(shù)月夜不歸宿，泡在網(wǎng)吧。因家庭生活比較拮據(jù)，便通過偷騙等手段籌措網(wǎng)資。2008年某日，被其偷騙過手機(jī)等物的幾名少年相約，要“好好教訓(xùn)教訓(xùn)”他一頓，并將其堵住進(jìn)行毒打，該少年被送至醫(yī)院后搶救無效死亡。而因此犯罪的少年大多與其同齡，最小的只有14歲。另有一名17歲的男生，原本品學(xué)兼優(yōu)，上初中時(shí)因課間打鬧造成同學(xué)受傷，受到老師嚴(yán)厲批評(píng)，自此一蹶不振，整天沉溺網(wǎng)絡(luò)之中，并以暴力抗拒家長(zhǎng)管教、脅迫父母為其籌措網(wǎng)資。
　　 據(jù)北京公安部門統(tǒng)計(jì)，有76%的青少年犯罪與沉迷網(wǎng)游有關(guān)。全國(guó)各地因孩子沉迷網(wǎng)游導(dǎo)致家庭悲劇或治安問題的事例屢見不鮮。山東省精神衛(wèi)生中心的統(tǒng)計(jì)數(shù)據(jù)顯示，“網(wǎng)癮”已經(jīng)成為青少年精神疾病的一大誘發(fā)因素；而一些社會(huì)學(xué)家認(rèn)為，網(wǎng)癮已與吸毒、性亂構(gòu)成侵蝕青少年靈魂和肌體、毒化社會(huì)氛圍的三大“毒瘤”，且基數(shù)遠(yuǎn)大于后兩者，其社會(huì)危害不可低估。

Some sociologists are of the opinion that Internet addiction, drug addiction and sexual promiscuity are three big "tumors" harming the souls and bodies of the adolescents. The level of social damage caused by Internet addiction is even higher than that from drug addiction and sexual promiscuity, and it should not be underestimated.
