前幾年，就聽朋友談起過莒南有一尊天然臥佛。 　　借一次在莒南開會的機會，我來到了臥佛山下，走近了這尊被譽為“世界奇觀”的天佛。 　　當天佛真真切切地出現在眼前時，一種強烈的震撼馬上把我籠罩住了，不禁拍手叫絕：像！像極了！真是大自然的神奇杰作！
　　倘若不是親眼瞻仰到天佛，他的莊嚴偉大，是我們無法想象得出的。
　　
　　山即是佛，佛即是山。
　　一尊碩大無朋的臥佛，橫空出現在如黛的群山環(huán)抱之中，猛然看去，分明是洛陽龍門石窟的盧舍那大佛不知何時躺在了這里。
　　莒南天佛長3800米，他頭枕西南青山，腳抵東北明湖，五官清晰，四肢分明。額頭飽滿方正，地閣渾厚深沉，獅鼻微翹，笑口常開，慈眉善目，神態(tài)莊嚴。更為奇妙的是，天佛表現出不同的形象，從南看是天佛，從東看是長發(fā)飄逸的觀音菩薩，從東北看又是一只威風凜凜的猛虎。一山三景，世界奇觀。
　　自從當年的圖澄大師慧眼識寶，初次發(fā)現了天佛，這里就成了佛家的道場。南北朝至今的1000多年間，歷代的高僧都紛紛慕名前來朝拜，當地的百姓也在此焚香許愿，使天佛山下常年香火不斷，成為佛門中的一方圣地。
　　為了供奉天佛，早在晉代就在臥佛山下建了臥佛寺。到了唐開元十二年（公元725年），著名的天文地理學家僧一行又重新勘定了臥佛寺的位置，在與天佛同一子午線上重建了規(guī)模宏大的新臥佛寺。
　　新建的臥佛寺地處龍虎寶地，它左邊有九頂蓮花山似巨龍騰飛，右有虎山像猛虎雄踞。加上山下的蓮花湖水，正應了《阿彌陀經》中的“七寶蓮地，八功德水，九品蓮花”之妙相。
　　臥佛寺門前有一棵唐代的老槐樹，當年是僧一行種了這棵樹，用它當坐標來勘定臥佛寺位置的。如今，眼前古槐之雄奇已難以用語言來形容。斑駁蒼老的樹皮，深深地銘刻著歷盡滄桑的痕跡，有的枝杈已經枯萎干裂，甚至身軀都已出現了空洞，但是，它依然顯出勃勃生機。
　　1000多年來，不管是風吹雨打還是戰(zhàn)火侵襲，唐槐一直默默地矗立在這里，聆聽著寺內傳來的晨鐘暮鼓、佛號經聲，忠實地守衛(wèi)著天佛。
　　記得佛經上說過，任何生靈都是有佛性的。那么這棵唐槐經受了多年梵音的浸潤，也應該具有佛性了。
　　登上臥佛寺內的瞻佛臺，凝望著天佛的身影，久久思索著。不知是大自然的鬼斧神工，還是佛法無邊的力量最終造就了這形神兼?zhèn)�、舉世無雙的天佛！
　　能夠瞻拜天佛，是我的福分，也是一種造化。
　　我學著別人的樣子，雙手合十、閉起雙眼，對著天佛許愿。最后，暗暗念了幾聲：阿彌陀佛！
　　
　　A few years ago, a friend told me that there was a naturally formed giant heavenly Buddha statue in Junan. Finally, I had the opportunity to come to the foot of the statue of the reclining Buddha, which is honored as a “world miracle.”
　　When I saw the giant Buddha statue, I was instantly amazed by it and could not help acclaiming: “This is a genuine marvelous works created by great nature!”
　　The giant heavenly Buddha statue is 3,800 meters long. His head lies on the southwest mountain with his feet stretching to the northeast Ming Lake. The organs and limbs look very vivid. With plump forehead and rising nose, the Buddha appears to be smiling with a gentle expression. Marvelously, looking at the Buddha statue from different directions, it presents different images. Looking at it from the south, it is a giant Buddha. Looking from the east, it is a Kwan-yin Bodhisattva with long hair. Looking from the northeast, it is a roaring tiger. The three scenes on one mountain thus produce a world spectacle. From the Southern and Northern Dynasty to the present, a period of more than 1,000 years, the monks of every dynasty have come to Junan to offer their worship to the Buddha statue. The local people also burn incense here to pray for luck from the Buddha. The worship all the year round, therefore, turns this area into a holy land of Buddhism.
