Zhu Guangya, a renowned nuclearphysicist, died in Beijing on February26 at the age of 87. Zhu was an academicianat the Chinese Academy ofSciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academyof Engineering. He contributed to the developmentof China’s first atomic and hydrogenbombs in the 1960s, and participated innearly all related research and developmentprograms.
