How Should Parents Help Children to Be Independent

Nowadays, a lot of parents are overdoing in taking care of their children. From doing laundry to job hunting, they have made every effort. However, such deeds deprive the youth of opportunities to grow independent.

In order to cultivate a sense of independence in their children, parents are supposed to first stop doing what the youngsters are able to do for themselves. Besides, it is advisable that parents expose their children to more difficulties and failures on purpose, helping them to learn valuable lessons from setbacks. Last but not least, parents should help their children develop a sense of responsibility.

Nothing Succeeds Without a Strong Will

Maybe most of us have heard of the humorous saying “Quitting smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I’ve done it hundreds of times.” But have you ever thought about its implication? Undoubtedly, nothing succeeds without a strong will.

Those who claim to have practiced smoking-quitting for hundreds of times failed to have a strong will. Without a strong will, one can never

On Excessive Packaging

Excessive packaging has increasingly become a common concern of the public. A package is supposed to serve as a cover of the product to keep it clean and prevent it from being damaged. However, most of the current packages have already surpassed the mere function of packaging.

The reasons for this are obvious. The primary reason, presumably, is that the manufactures attempt to attract potential customs with delicate packaging, or to cover up the inferior quality of the product. The second reason is that the consumers want to show their sincerity and elegance with beautifully packaged gift.

Personally I think excessive packaging should be controlled because it conceals the quality of the product, consumes a lot of resources and

adds much to the cost of the goods. To improve the present situation, manufactures had better distinguish family packaging separately so that consumers could make choices according to their own needs.

As is vividly depicted in the cartoon given above, we can observe that a son, holding a smart phone, says to his mom, “why am I going to school if my phone already knows everything?” there is no doubt that the picture strongly reflects that phenomenon that more and more students object the idea of going to school when they have a phone, which can help them know everything. However, it is by no means a sensible idea.

It is generally acknowledged that going to school is not outdated. Whereas, it will remain as vital as it used to be. To begin with, going to school makes it possible to study with classmates and make progress together. As the old saying goes, “many hands make light work.” If students can study together, they can arouse the interest and cooperate with each other, thus making study more easy and enjoyable. What’s more, going to school means the face-to-face communication. It goes without saying that this way is more direct and effective, where we can raise questions and solve all the questions on spot. Last but not least, mobile phones cannot replace school. When using mobile phones. There are more chances for students to distract their attention. In addition, they may easily addicted to the games on the phone.

On the whole, as far as I am concerned, mobile phones do help us study in some ways. Nevertheless, it can by no means replace go to school. Going to school is the sensible choice. And school is the place where you can benefit the most.
